Hi everyone!
I'm Aniruddha Bhattacharya. I welcome you to my blog, Nature & Science. My highest educational qualification, for now, is a Bachelor of Science in Physics, graduated in 2022 from the University of Calcutta. Currently I'm putting in my efforts towards my Master's Degree in Physics from Rajabazar Science College, University of Calcutta. All good, after I get my Master's done, I'll try to conduct original research and establish myself in academia.
I started this blog in April 2020. Somewhat like eight months into my bachelor program, all usual schemes of studies came to an indefinite halt as the Covid-19 pandemic hit hard. To get rid of boredom, I decided to try my hand at science writing. After reading Carl Sagan and watching his television show, Cosmos: A Personal Voyage, and later, his mentored student Neil deGrasse Tyson's version, Cosmos: A Space-Time Odyssey, I learned that the hardest, nut-cracking science can turn into fairy-tales. Once you start doing science, you see the universe out there, and the world we inhabit seems like a chapter in a fairy tale. There's magic everywhere. The deeper you delve into physics, quantum mechanics, and general relativity, the very notion of reality vanishes into thin air. You know the Moon is right there. You are looking at it! But turn your head, close your eyes. Now tell me, are you sure the Moon's there? What if it's everywhere and nowhere? What if you yourself are everywhere all at once and nowhere at once?
Well, at least now you know what's my blog for. Here I'll mostly be writing about astronomy, for that's my favorite. The stars and football are the only things that keep me up all night. You'll also find some pieces on biology, chemistry, and mathematics.
What worries me the most is the degradation of our natural environment and ourselves. Even though we've landed on the Moon and sent space probes outside our solar system heading towards distant star systems, our home is falling apart. It's hanging right, but you know what I mean. There's too much bad stuff going on. We can fix everything. Right?
So this completes my introduction. There's a contact form given in the left panel where you can send me any messages. Here's also my Gmail address - x1cygnus455@gmail.com
